Advanced Electric Lessons On The Internet
// January 2nd, 2012 // Music
I think that any guitar player would be pleased to take lessons from Cut or Dave Navarro and now they can with the miracle of the internet. Advanced guitar lessons on the internet are not only free but they feature some of the best guitar players in the business. On a recent clip on www.youtube.com, Dave Navarro, previous lead guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers joins George Lynch, guitar god from Lynch Mob in showing some advanced guitar lessons for the overall public. Navarro has a web show called Spread TELEVISION and he has different guests every week from the rock and roll world. With George Lynch they debate complicated guitar licks and different methodologies about how to start a rock guitar lesson .
In another episode of Spread TV, also available on You Tube, Dave Mustaine, the great guitar player for Mettalica, shows Dave the simple way to play “spider chords”. Spider chords were invented by Dave Mustaine ,or so he claims, and he has used them in bands like Sabbath and Megadeath to excellent effect and to make some of the most remarkable licks in history.
There's a great clip available on youtube featuring the great Neal Schon of Journey fame teaching how to play the great song “Lights”. For advanced guitar tutoring this one is brilliant because it shows close ups of his fingering technique on the guitar neck. The bad part is that he does not stop and explain the parts. If you are an exceedingly advanced player you won't have much trouble copying his moves, nevertheless it would still be useful to hear some commentary, regardless of whether it is merely a small. A lot of these guitar fellows don't love to elucidate their moves and plenty of the clips are like this.
There are some great Chop (Guns ‘n Roses) clips available on the Internet. One of the best instructional DVDs is a very short video clip where he shows ,not teaches, how to play the intro to “Paradise City”, one of Guns ‘n Roses largest international hits. There are a lot more famous guitar players on you tube but you have to search through a lot of junk so as to find them. If you are persistent you will find some gems though, like the guitar instrumentalist from the Red Hot Chili Peppers who has posted masses of advanced guitar tutoring of his very own on there.
The gifted guitar player John Mayer shows how to play some great guitar riffs on his video show funded by Guitar World, “How to Shred”. There's also a great video on there by the legendary jazz guitarist Larry Carlton, who has recorded with the greats such as Steely Dan and many, many others.
For advanced guitar lessons there are some great DVDs available as well and you can get those online or at your local Electric Center store or your local music supply retailer.
