Next Level Guitar Course Review

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Before I started using the Next Level Guitar Lessons course I had been playing guitar for many years. If I had already been playing for years then you are probably wondering why I would even need to start a course like this. The truth is that even though I had spent years playing guitar I never got real serious with it and I still wasn’t very good.

Yes, even though I had been playing for years I really wasn’t much better than a “beginner.” In some ways I really was a beginner because there was some very basic stuff that I couldn’t do (such as play a basic blues shuffle.)

My problem, and the problem that many people have, is that every time I would pick up the guitar I would just go through the motions playing the stuff I could already play. It should be obvious that you aren’t really learning anything new when you just play what you already know.

This seems blindingly obvious to me now but for some reason I never really picked up on it until I decided to get serious with my guitar playing and start using Next Level Guitar.

You should be learning something new every single time you pick up the guitar and with this course (and with any other good guitar lessons) that’s exactly what you are going to be doing. You are always pushing yourself to the “next level” by doing something that is difficult to do.

And that’s a really key point; if you find yourself spending a lot of time with your guitar playing stuff that comes easily to you then you aren’t pushing yourself hard enough. It’s important to always be challenging yourself.

I also recommend getting serious with ear training if you really want to be a great musician. A cool way to get started with ear training is to take an easy song that you know really well like “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” or “Row Row Row Your Boat” and to play the melody on the keyboard. Listen closely to the intervals of the melody. Practice singing the melody with and without your instrument. Using a digital tuner to sing into is a good way to test your pitch. If you want to learn how to sing in tune, this well help you reach that goal as well.
